You Only Live Twice (1967)

Here again we have a case of one of the Bond films I have probably watched the least. I actually did enjoy this one a lot the first time I saw it, but it seems that on subsequent viewings, it loses some of its appeal. The opening sequence that leads the audience to believe Bond is killed is a good way to set up the audience for surprises to come.
The actor who portrays Ernst Stavro Blofeld in this film is my favorite actor to take on the role. Donald Pleaseance seems to portray the mystery and evil of this character behind many of the Bond plots. Perhaps it is because of frequent viewings of Austin Powers that this character appeals to me. Dr. Evil, of the Austin Powers films, is a parody of the Blofeld found in You Only Live Twice.
Overall, it is not one of my favorite Bond films, but it still manages to present quite a bit of action and adventure.
