St. Louis Cardinals, Champions of the World!

I was right but I expected it to at least go six games but the youth of the Tigers finally came out. They’ll be good next year but really need to add some disciplined hitters because they were really exposed by the Cardinals and they’re pitching staff. As for Cardinals, they will get a chance to heal and will be favored going into next year as long as the resign some of the key players in the playoffs this year like Jeff Weaver and Jeff Suppan. A great season comes to an end but look for next year to be even better.

The Cardinals Win, The Cardinals Win!

Not yet, but are in a very good position to take the title.  As I mentioned last week, if the Cards won the NL, I look for them to take the series because they are a good overall team.  They split in Detroit and now head back to St. Louis with Chris Carpenter going in game 3 and Jeff Suppan going in game 4.   I believe that they will win both games and then will only have to win one of the final three games for the title.

Who Will Play the Tigers?

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

Ok, so the Tigers are pretty good. I was way off on my predictions for the playoffs and that’s probably why they play the game.51.jpg  The Tigers have lost one game and basically swept through the American League which is the better league and has been for a while according to a lot of analysts.  So they should sweep whoever they play in the World Series, right?  Not so fast, the Mets and Cardinals both have potent line-ups and decent pitching staffs.  If the Mets make it, I think I’ll take the Tigers because the Mets have decent pitching and that’s where it ends.  If the Cardinals make it, I’m going out on a limb and picking them because they have an ace in Chris Carpenter who I think can nullify the Tigers line-up. He would have to pitch at least three games but anything can happen.

MLB

images.jpgThe Atlanta Braves have finally been eliminated from postseason consideration, but let’s give them a hand for winning 14 division championships in row. The Braves are my team but there gone so let’s get on to the playoffs. In the AL, we know what four teams are in with them being, NY Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers and the Oakland A’s(the A’s haven’t officially clinched but most likely will). The Yankees have to be the favorites because of all the talent they have and I really think that the Chicago White Sox had the only real shot of taking them down but they are eliminated. In the NL, the NY Mets have clinched and that’s it. I look for the St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies to also clinch and I think its wide open because no team has dominating pitching or hitting. Also, is the L.A. Dodgers make it, I look for them to face the Yankees in the World Series.
