The Cardinals Win, The Cardinals Win!

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

Not yet, but are in a very good position to take the title.  As I mentioned last week, if the Cards won the NL, I look for them to take the series because they are a good overall team.  They split in Detroit and now head back to St. Louis with Chris Carpenter going in game 3 and Jeff Suppan going in game 4.   I believe that they will win both games and then will only have to win one of the final three games for the title.

Staying Under the Radar…

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

The Minnesota Vikings went up to the defending NFC champs and mopped the floor with them.  They beat Seattle 31-13 on Sunday with a dominating defense and a very solid run game.  I was waiting for the highlights of the game to see what they had to say about the game and guess what; all they talked about was the Seahawks and all their injuries and jinxes.  I was kind of mad at first but I turned this into a good thing.  As long as the Vikings are staying under the radar, teams won’t gear up for them like they would a Colts, Bears, etc.  They get the Patriots at home this Monday and even if they lose this game they are still in good position like I said last week.  If they win, they won’t be under the radar anymore, but don’t play anybody that should beat them until the Bears in Week 13.

How Will the Cowboys Lose This Week?

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

I didn’t know what to think on Sat. after the extra point was blocked. The Cowboys found another way to lose and I just don’t know what to expect know from this team. Also, they get a Nebraska team this week that lost the same way they did and to put it simply, Nebraska is a better overall team. I know that the Cowboys could possibly when this game but I’m not going to bet on it because I have no idea what team will show up and if the better team does show up, how they will find a way to lose the game. My prediction for this team now is a 6-6 because they just aren’t consistent enough to do better than that.

What’s Gotten Into the Defense?

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

The Oklahoma Sooners haven’t played this good of defense since their 2000 National Championship. They played Colorado this weekend and only allowed about 150 total yards. The Colorado offense is by no means Ohio State but they only got on the OU side of the 50 two times, one for a missed field goal and one for a make. This week should be a true tester of how good the defense is or if they are just posing like a real Oklahoma Defense. mdeemddrnhfwcsm_20061030004956.jpgI believe OU will do exactly what Texas A&M did to Missouri which is run, run and then more run which will keep Chase Daniel and Co. off the field. 10-2 still looks good for now.

Who Will Play the Tigers?

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

Ok, so the Tigers are pretty good. I was way off on my predictions for the playoffs and that’s probably why they play the game.51.jpg  The Tigers have lost one game and basically swept through the American League which is the better league and has been for a while according to a lot of analysts.  So they should sweep whoever they play in the World Series, right?  Not so fast, the Mets and Cardinals both have potent line-ups and decent pitching staffs.  If the Mets make it, I think I’ll take the Tigers because the Mets have decent pitching and that’s where it ends.  If the Cardinals make it, I’m going out on a limb and picking them because they have an ace in Chris Carpenter who I think can nullify the Tigers line-up. He would have to pitch at least three games but anything can happen.

Rested and Ready to Play!

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off of a bye week and face Seattle on the road this weekend. Before the bye week the Vikings beat Detroit with their defense scoring two touchdowns in the 4th quarter. I think 3-2 is a good start because they played a tough schedule and beat one team they should have loss to and loss to won team they should have beat to cancel each game out. Looking a head, the Vikings have the Patriots at home after the Seahawks and if they could go 1-1 in these two games, that would be great because they have three very winnable games in row after these next two weeks. I have confidence that they can and then will win those games which will put them at 7-3 and a rematch in Chicago with the best team in the NFL.

Adios Adrian Peterson!

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

The Oklahoma Sooners played a great game this weekend against Iowa State. The offense scored 34 points and the defense only allowed one offense. So you’re probably wondering what the problem was, Adrian Peterson broke his collarbone and is done for the season which adrian-peterson-missour-1.jpg   t1_peterson.jpgbasically means he’s done at OU.I’m sad to see him go but the season ended for OU when they didn’t show up for the second half of the Texas game. I think this is a good thing because it gives experience to the people who will be playing next year. The bad thing is the Sooner’s are capable of winning out and also capable of losing out. My prediction is that they win out because they have a good defense now that there in conference play and Paul Thompson now has experience. That will put them at 10-2, (7-1).

Adarius Who?

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

Oklahoma State is coming off of a very good victory against Kansas this weekend in which the offense exploded in the second half. This is a good victory because the Cowboys needed a win after giving the game to Kansas State the previous week and it was on the med.jpgroad. Bobby Reid finally looks like the quarterback we all expected to see when he was signed and Adarius Bowman has looked a lot better then what we expected with 13 catches for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns against Kansas.bowman_picture_-_class_notes.jpg The defense played pretty well even though they gave up two touchdowns toward the end of the game pretty much after it was over. In my opinion the Cowboys will be in every game they play the rest of the season and winning this game should give them confidence to get the job done. I look for them to win every game the rest of the season except Texas and OU which will put them at 8-4 and 5-3 in conference.
