The Minnesota Vikings beat the Arizona Cardinals this weekend to move to 5-6 and stay in the hunt for a wild card sport.
I think 9-7 will get a team into a wild card spot and there are about ten teams in the hunt for that spot so your guess is as good as mine as to who is going to make it.The Vikings play the bears this week and I’m assuming they are going to lose, so if they do then they would have to win the remainder of their games to get to that mark. With four weeks left to play, it should be an exiting month.

When Adrian Peterson broke his collarbone, he was projected to be out anywhere from 4-8 weeks. Now the Sooner’s haven’t lost since then, and now have a date against Nebraska in the Big XII Championship Game. Also, this is the seventh week and that’s the question on everyone’s mind right now.

The Bedlam game was another one to remember.
It came down the final play again, and OU was able to continue their remarkable season. Now for OU, the Big XII Championship game where they will face Nebraska for a BCS bowl berth in the Fiesta Bowl. It should be a good game but I think OU’s defense will be too much for Nebraska to handle. For OSU, it was a good season because they gained valuable experience that they can carry into next year. They should receive and invitation to the Independence Bowl or the Texas Bowl and should win the came they go to. Note: The year before OU’s National Championship in 2000, they went to the Independence Bowl and lost to Mississippi.

As a fan of Oklahoma State University, I am very excited to announce that the Cowboys are going bowling. The bowl is yet to be determined but the worst case scenario is that they will
be playing in the Texas Bowl in Houston and that’s not that bad at all. Best case scenario is that the Cowboys beat Texas Tech and Oklahoma and end up in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. The bowls in between that they could end up in are the Sun Bowl in El Paso and the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, LA. All in all, this has been a good season that has only given the young Cowboys experience going into next year where I look for them to make a run at the Cotton Bowl and Holiday Bowl.

On Senior Day in Norman this weekend, Paul Thompson
had the game of his career. The trials and tribulations that Thompson went through made Saturday worth it. After sitting 3 years behind Jason White, he won the starting job in 2005 only to be replaced in the second half of game one. Then after working out at wide receiver for a year, he takes the challenge and moves back to quarterback after the starting quarterback is dismissed from the team. And now, after 5 years, he led his team back from fourteen points down to a victory against Texas Tech 34-24. What a wonderful ending to long and exciting career at the University of Oklahoma.

Ok, so I definitely over hyped the Minnesota Vikings and I’m going to apologize because as much as I am right, which is a lot, this was a huge mistake. When the Vikings were 4-2, I thought for sure they would make the playoffs,
but after three consecutive loses including two to teams with losing records and two at home, I’m officially calling it a season. I was a year early in thinking that the Vikings were a playoff contender but I also thought that their QB would act his age, which is close to 40 if not 40, and protect the ball and let the defense win games. That hasn’t happened and that’s why next year, with a new QB, and still the great defense, they should be ready. I believe that they can end up with winning record but they can’t compete when they get to the playoffs.

I was right but I expected it to at least go six games but the youth of the Tigers finally came out. They’ll be good next year but really need to add some disciplined hitters because they were really exposed by the Cardinals and they’re pitching staff. As for Cardinals, they will get a chance to heal and will be favored going into next year as long as the resign some of the key players in the playoffs this year like Jeff Weaver and Jeff Suppan. A great season comes to an end but look for next year to be even better.

Can anybody please tell me who the Oklahoma State Cowboys are? Are they the team that rolled over Nebraska after being 16 points down in the first quarter, or are they the team that lets Kansas State score 2 touchdowns in the last four minutes of the game and Texas pass all over them in a 26 point loss? I don’t think that anyone knows and that’s scary with three games left. They get Baylor at home this week and then travel to Tech and then Bedlam. Hopefully, they can win one more so they can finish at least with a .500 record but it wouldn’t surprise me if they lose all three games or win all three games and no one knows. If anybody knows, please let me know.

The Sooner’s are rolling and have two pretty easy games ahead and should be favored in the Bedlam game this year. When Adrian Peterson went down, America wrote OU off, but after three games without him, everybody has stepped including the coaching staff. This week after dominating Texas A&M the first half, the game came down to one coaching move in which coach Bob Stoops made the right call. Going for it on 4th and inches and getting put the nail in the coffin on a 17-16 victory down in College Station. If they can win these last three games, they would certainly go to the Cotton Bowl which would definitely be a success considering what they have lost this season.
