Fin!

November 28th, 2006

Well, here it is folks. This is my last post. The end has finally come. No more posting from me. I am truly sorry I will not be able to impart my incredible wisdom any longer. If you would still like to follow my musings, you can check out my lame Xanga site. It is sure to amuse and amaze. And alliterate, apparently.

Anyway, thank you all for keeping up with my site (or not keeping up with my site). It has been…fun?

Dude, stop wearing girls’ jeans.

Perhaps no word is more overused and less understood than “emo.” These days, just about everything is “emo” according to someone. I will try to give an ever so brief rundown, so people will stop the madness.

Pitchfork

November 27th, 2006

I was recently alerted to the indie music site Pitchfork. I had only heard of it in passing because I frequently visit Metacritic, which is a very good site, by the way.

Anyway, Pitchfork has some very enjoyable content, and you can waste quite a bit of time there. I find much of their writing, while funny, to be quite typically “indie,” i.e. elitist. Although not the perfect example of this, check out the review of Jet’s latest album.

Sing, sing a song…

November 26th, 2006

I am pretty big into making themed CD’s. I guess in this day and age of iPods and the like, CD’s have become passe, but I still enjoy them, especially when burning my own. There is a sense of finality to them. You can only pick about 20 songs, and that is it. When you get down to those last few songs and you can only pick one of them, you have to make a decision. Maybe I am making the process much more dramatic than it really is, but I still take it pretty seriously.

Take it up with God…

November 26th, 2006

It’s people like this who sometimes make it difficult for me to treat others the way I should. My initial reaction is something like: “‘Take it up with God’ huh? Maybe you need to be worried about God taking it up with you.” That is not the correct attitude though, nor does it set the correct example for others. The church gave out of love, expecting nothing in return, and that should be the end of it. It still burns me up though. Who cons a church? Seriously.

Casino Royale

November 26th, 2006

As I said I would, I watched Casino Royale on opening weekend. Overall, it was an enjoyable flick. I give it a solid 7 out of 10.

Halloween hos

November 26th, 2006

So, here is something I thought of while watching The Girls Next Door (yeah, I don’t know either). It’s well known that, in large part, Halloween costumes for females are…skimpy? It has gotten to the point where it isn’t even joked about anymore; it is just a matter of fact. Halloween gives girls the chance to dress like sluts and, yet, somehow are not sluts because of it. I sure don’t understand it but whatever.

Guilty Pleasures

November 26th, 2006

Everyone has their guilty pleasures. You know, those things you enjoy that seem to defy all sense of taste and, in some cases, sense. I guess I am no different than anyone else in this regard, yet I still feel bad about it.
