Oklahoma welcomes guests from all over the country and the world.  But it’s amazing how little Oklahomans know about the diverse cultures and lifestyles around them, even within our country’s own borders. 

Check out the new page Oklahoma Survival Guide.  The page features a few out-of-staters listing the things they have done to cope with a new life in Oklahoma. 

If you’re from out-of-state, do you have anything to add that might help people from your part of the country live a sane life in this state?

If you’re from Oklahoma, do you agree with the out-of-staters?  Do you think Oklahomans would have a hard time living in their state?  Is it just as hard for Oklahomans living here as is it for out-of-staters.

It’s a bittersweet day.  The Landmark of the Month page is, for the most part, complete. 

It’s been great four months.  We have had a lot of memories.  We laughed; we cried; we skimmed through the pages not really paying attention. 

In the end, we’ve seen four great Oklahoma landmarks lampooned on the Oklahoma Sucks feature. 

The next and final month is April’s Toy and Action Figure Museum. 

The museum is in Pauls Valley and is basically the only thing of interest in the town. 

It was chosen because of its unique content and its national media buzz.

The new page Oklahoma Top 5 has just been added to Oklahoma Sucks. 

On the Oklahoma Top 5, you’ll find the top 5 things most people like about living or visiting Oklahoma.

Of course, most of you will probably not respond lowering my grade.  I guess this means that my content is just not that good. 

It’s not like anyone out there is apathetic, has senoritis or doesn’t check their websites and everyone elses websites everyday like I do. 

It must be me.  I must pay for providing several boring, poorly written posts that don’t deserve credit. 

Maybe I should have picked a better topic that would’ve provoked more discussion, like my obsession with 3-D puzzles or my addiction to Amazon.com. 

All of these topics are better than my boring topic that tries to comment on social issues of the day that are pertinent to everyday life in Oklahoma. 

I deserve a lower grade because of this.  I also didn’t respond to anyone elses posts.  Why should I get credit?  It’s not like I did my part. 

Well, it has finally happened.  I updated the Landmark of the Month page for March.  And only two weeks into April.  It’s a new record. 

The Landmark of the Month for March is the Oklahoma State Capitol Dome.  It was chosen because it “completes” one of the most important buildings in the state. 

Underneath this dome, important decisions are being made; decisions about what you can do in your own bedroom and who, when and how you marry or how many children you can have.  

What would we do without the Oklahoma lawmakers deciding for us what books we can check out and what shows and films we can watch. 

Yes, important things happen here at the dome. 

The people of Oklahoma thought the dome was a waste of money. 

But the people know as much about how taxpayer dollars should be spent as they know about what they really want.  Or at least, that’s what the lawmakers think.

According to Oklahoma Public Radio, a public school in Pocola, OK is debating an issue that challenges the First Amendment. 

School official Frank Makinson has sued the school district to stop Christian-based prayers at mandatory school meetings.
